Challenges and opportunities for implementation of regulations on environment, occupational health and safety and labour relations
Challenges and Opportunities for Implementation of Regulations on Environment, Occupational Health and Safety and Labour Relations Based on the Best European Practices (ENROL) project strengthens education and public understanding of the European Union (EU) by addressing key policy areas that directly affect everyday life, environmental protection, occupational safety and health, and labour relations. The project responds to the growing need for up-to-date knowledge of EU regulations and policies, particularly in countries undergoing alignment with EU standards. At the core of the project is the ENROL School, an innovative educational programme structured around three EU-focused modules. Teaching is delivered by university professors, with contributions from guest lecturers and experts. The ENROL School is designed for a diverse audience, including graduate, master’s and PhD students, academic staff, as well as professionals and policy-makers. To strengthen the link between education and real-world decision-making, the project also organises round tables that bring together academics, students, professionals, industry representatives, and policy-makers. All ENROL activities are organised in a hybrid format, enabling wider participation while reducing environmental impact, in line with the objectives of the European Green Deal. In response to EU priorities under “An Economy that Works for People”, the project places strong emphasis on supporting young people. Participants develop EU-relevant competences, improve employability, and strengthen essential soft skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving through interactive lectures, discussions, and practical exercises. The ENROL project contributes to capacity building in EU studies, strengthens the connection between education, research, and societal needs, and creates a sustainable platform for continued engagement with European policies and values.
